The mission of The Health Foundation, Inc. is to improve the health and well-being of the citizens of our area. Charitable contributions from people wishing to make a difference in our community are the driving force behind our many accomplishments. Notable projects include the on-site helipad at WRMC and the restoration of West Park into a community of medical services. Financial support to the new Family Center at WRMC and the Kidney Dialysis Center helped make possible these important services. Other projects include the purchase of the Wilkes Public Health Mobile Dental Clinic and the renovations to the fixed site children and adult clinics, as well as smaller grants to area health care programs.

An ongoing scholarship program provides financial resources to individuals wishing to work in health care fields in Wilkes County, North Carolina.

The Health Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization, and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The organization is in the process of introducing a "Laughmobile" program to provide humor therapy to patients at WRMC. Volunteer opportunities are available.
